Cargo Insurance

Insurance Subject
All cargo import, export or reexport and related interests during transportation regardless of means of transport.

Insured Persons
Any physical or juridical person, manufacturer and trader, who carries out trade with goods and cargo transportation.

Covered Risks
Only those risks and expenses, which are indicated in the insurance contract, are covered, and their indication in the insurance contract should be exhaustive. On the request of the insured, the INSURER, at his discretion, can execute insurance coverage not for the risks and its clauses, quoted in the previous paragraphs, but according to the requirements of the standard international clauses Institute Cargo Clauses (А) – 1.1.82, Institute Cargo Clauses (Б) – 1.1.82, Institute Cargo Clauses ( C ) – 1.1.82 or other active or applied on the international insurance market cargo clauses, corresponding to the cargo type or to the way of transportation. On the request of the insured and against payment of an additional insurance premium, the INSURER can guarantee insurance coverage for military risks, strikes, rebellions and civil unrest according to the clauses Institute War Clauses ( Cargo ) – 1.1.82 and Institute Strikes Clauses ( Cargo ) – 1.1.82. or other active specialized and applied on the international market cargo clauses for coverage of military risks, strikes, rebellions and civil unrest.

Uncovered Risks
Upon cargo insurance during transportation, the loss and/or damage of cargo, caused by the following risks, are always excluded:
  • Deliberate activities and/or gross negligence on the part of the insuring and/or insured, and/or carter, and/or forwarder, and/or recipient, and/or shipping agent, and/or crew (driver) of means of transport, and/or representatives of all these groups of persons;
  • Violation on the part of the persons of the previous paragraph of the established rules during transportation, dispatch, arrangement and storage of cargo;
  • Own defect or nature of cargo, like drying, shrinking, self decay, natural weight loss, colorization, absorbing odours, etc, except in the cases when such a loss and/or damage has occurred as a result of risk that is covered by the insurance contract;
  • Direct or indirect influence of nuclear explosion and/or radioactive radiation and/or radioactivity infection as a result of any exploitation of atomic energy and/or radioactive substances;
  • Loss or delay of transportation, price variation and other indirect losses, like, for example, currency exchange rate loss, of interest, of juncture conditions, of additional freightage, quarantine expenses including when they are due to transport delay;
  • Mould, fermentation, hidden defect, worms, larvae, rodents and insects, with the exception of the cases when such a loss and/or damage is in relation to a risk, covered by the insurance contract;
  • Feigned variations in the weight due to different indications of measurement devices, appurtenances or methods (scale difference);
  • Due to partial lack of content in case of a fully preserved external packaging, as well as lack and/or damage due to insufficient or unsuitable packaging;
  • Soiling, contamination, decolourization, colorization, etc. similar to cargoes travelling without packaging with the exception of cargoes in a loos or on tap state;
  • Full or partial loss and/or damage of cargo as a result of exercising threat and/or violence against a person of б. “а”, if this person has not undertaken the required care of a good proprietor for the prevention of full or partial loss and/or damage of cargo;
  • Full or partial loss and/or damage of cargo, when an official document, issued by an official in the sphere of his office, carries information that part of the cargo or the whole cargo has disappeared or is taken from or together with the whole means of transport during stay and/or parking outside a guarded parking, gas station, customs or frontier check-point;
  • Any damages of cargo on a vessel that is not certified according to the requirements of the International Safe Management Code – ISMC, or if on the board of this vessel during damage causation there wasn’t a duly certified copy of this certificate;
  • Lack of content or part thereof when the original seals of the forwarder are intact;
  • Fraud from any person when it has led to full or partial loss and/or damage of cargo;
  • Contraband or prohibited trade or execution of transaction in breach of the customs and tax legislation with the insured cargo or with the means of transport in which they are situated;

Insurance Period
Insurance is valid for the duration of transportation of the cargo along the usual route, but not more than sixty days from the start of transportation.

Insurance Premium Payment
Insurance premium is a percentage of the insurance amount depending on the clauses covered in the contract. It can be deposited in a lump sum.

Damage Payment
Compensation is paid in a term of fifteen days after presentation of all required documents.

Insurance premium discount is received:
    * When you are a new client;
    * When you are a corporate client;
    * Upon insurance contract renewal;
    * Complex insurance;
    * Lack of damages from the previous year;
    * 20% discount upon contracting a subscription policy
