Eurohold and Euroins Successfully Repel a Large-Scale Cyberattack on Their Operations

News

Eurohold Bulgaria AD, the largest publicly listed holding company in Bulgaria, informs the public that during the past week the Group and its subsidiary insurer, Euroins Insurance JSC, were subjected to a large-scale cyberattack employing some of the most sophisticated methods associated with this type of cybercrime.

Thanks to the efforts of the company's cybersecurity team and the competent state authorities, Eurohold and its insurance subsidiary successfully neutralized and stopped the attack. The only impact has been temporary inconvenience to customers resulting from the disruption of the insurer’s website and certain online systems. The objective of the attack was to disrupt business operations, steal data, attempt extortion and blackmail, and damage the company’s reputation.

Eurohold and Euroins would like to assure all clients, partners, and stakeholders that they will not yield to such attempts at blackmail and extortion and will not, under any circumstances, legitimize criminal activities of this nature. The companies within the Group continue to fulfill their professional obligations and commitments without interruption.

Eurohold and Euroins extend their sincere gratitude to their IT, cybersecurity, and cyber defense teams for their professionalism, dedication, and successful efforts in countering the attack. The Group and its subsidiaries are also grateful to the relevant government authorities and institutions whose support and actions contributed to protecting the business operations of Bulgaria’s largest publicly listed holding company, which is also an important element of the country's national security. Eurohold highly values their cooperation and support.

Euroins and the other companies within the Group rely on the professional cooperation of their colleagues and partners in the prompt identification and prevention of similar cyberattacks and cyber-extortion attempts. The Group encourages anyone who may possess information that could assist in identifying those responsible for such criminal activities, including cyberattacks, cyber threats, and cyber extortion, to contact 0700 17 241 or +359 2 982 83 63 (Cybercrime Directorate, General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime).
