Four medals won the Bulgarian journalists at the World Ski Championship for Journalists, which took place in Pamporovo-Mechi Chal.
Lyubomir Boyadjiev from Nova TV took the gold in skiing and the two silver medals are in the giant slalom – taken by Vesela Vladkova from BNR and Julian Stoyanov from the Personal Drama newspaper.
This year's 65th Meeting of Ski Journalists, hosted by the Rhodope resort from 26 February to 4 March, was attended by 173 journalists from 30 countries. For the third time Bulgaria is a host the competition in the unique combination of giant slalom and cross country skiing for the first time in 1985 in Vitosha Mountain and the second in 2006 in Bansko.
Medalists in the giant slalom in Pamporovo-Mechi Chal were awarded by President Rosen Plevneliev, who participated in a conference "Bulgaria, the EU and the Western Balkans" within the framework of the journalism forum.
The ski run of the race was given by our Olympic champion in the biathlon Ekaterina Dafovska, which also gave awards to the winners.
Τηε World Meetings of the International Ski Club of Journalists are held every year since 1955. This year 14 journalists from 13 different media took part at the competition.
The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Bulgarian traditions and culture during their two-day stay in the European capital of culture 2019 - Plovdiv, as well as to take part in the most massive downhill with national costumes and flags organized for another year in Pamporovo for the national holiday March 3.
